Is she too Pro-life? Donald Trump’s new campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, is a longtime pro-life activist who has advised Republican and pro-life groups on messaging. In 2015, she called using the Planned Parenthood baby body parts videos a “shock the conscience, warm the heart” tactic to convert people to the pro-life cause. She has conducted surveys for Students for Life of America and spoken and participated in a plethora of pro-life events.
Conway’s expertise on women’s voting trends and her ability to sharply defend the right to life will no doubt help the Trump campaign — and perhaps help people to see that the pro-life movement and empowered women go hand-in-hand. “I want to win,” Mr. Trump said in an interview Tuesday night in which he disclosed his hires. “That’s why I’m bringing on fantastic people who know how to win and love to win.”
Conway recently joined the Trump campaign after working for a super PAC that supported Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, but Mr. Trump wanted to promote her and liked the idea of elevating a woman as his campaign manager, one aide said. She is likely to travel frequently with the candidate.
